Cris got himself into trouble after making a comment on my photo album in Facebook. Shara and I voted that the treat is on him so that's how Shara and I got ourselves a free dinner treat. We would like to thank Cris for being such a good sport.
We have decided to eat at Bigby's Cafe and Restaurant in Ayala Center. Bigby's is known for its very good ambiance. I have been to a few of its branches and every time I step inside it brings me into a place completely different from the outside.
Our dinner started with their Zen High Salad a mix of green and red lettuce, egg, ripe mango, cucumber, tomatoes, Japanese crab sticks and crispy prawn fritters complimented with Japanese dressing. Starting our meal with a delectable combination of fresh goodies set our appetite in action. Fisherman's Catch, a meal platter is very much suited with our salad. It's a combination of tortilla crusted dowry fish, squid rings, 2 sticks of grilled boomerang shrimps (shrimp skewered with mushroom and onion served with a garlic dip), rice, buttered corn and green beans. Much to our delight we ate it all, eased our hunger and cleaned our plate pretty well. In layman's term busog. We took few more minutes to let our meal settle down, then with Cris' generosity he paid our bill and that's the best part! All three of us enjoyed the our meal. Thank you Cris for the great meal. Next stop, dessert.
TRIVIA:
Bigby's is not a name but an adjective. It is derived from the word "big" because one of the owners likes everything in big sizes to fill his gigantic appetite. Every dish that comes out in the menu has to go through his “busog” test, which actually means that when he eats it, he has to be fully satisfied. This test ensures that every guest will not leave Bigby’s hungry. The phrase, “I can’t eat another bite, I’ll just bring it home with me”, is very common among diners.
